Give the people what they want. You know your Frenchie is cute enough and funny enough! Make them a damn Instagram already. Everyone loves dog videos and pictures, you are blessing the world and making it a happier place. Ok, so now that we’ve convinced you, we will help you get started.
1. Get a media manager.
Getting started and growing your account is a lot of work. It can be done with a lot of creativity and effort, so if you have time, go for it! Sometimes the most efficient way to create a good social media account is to hire a media manager. They can be hired by the month or number of posts, so it doesn’t have to be a long commitment. We recommend a company called Happy Healthy Media.
2. Content is key.
If you want to do your own thing and hiring a media manager is not your choice, you need to spend a lot of time making content with your Frenchie. This shouldn’t be hard right? Your phone and cuteness are always in reach. We can promise you that having full shoots with your Frenchie is totally normal and not as extra as it feels. We’ve seen it all. Get creative with outfits, backdrops, and props. If you need some ideas, check out some of the big Frenchie accounts on Instagram like @MICROFRENCHIES, @THEFRENCHIEPOST, or @LOVE.A.BULLY for inspiration.
3. Stay active and relevant.
There’s this thing called ‘algorithm’, and yes, it’s real. You can no longer post once every 4 weeks and expect to gain followers and engagement. Posting almost every day is the goal. Use relevant hashtags and tag accounts that you would like to be seen/featured by. Search for hashtags that are popular and use them! When you do post, always make sure you’re engaging with your audience. This means replying to comments on your post or even making the caption a question or something that provokes comments and engagement. Remember to also comment and engage with the accounts you follow. The more your name pops up, the better.
4. Collaborate
Paying for followers is frowned upon to some people, but hey it works and so many people do it! When you collaborate with other accounts, you basically trade real followers. Starting out you may have to pay larger accounts like @MICROFRENCHIES to post your content, but as you become more popular, you can collaborate with other accounts just through shout-outs.
Hopefully this helps you get started. Don’t be afraid to let your personality (and your Frenchie’s) shine through. Be different and have fun with it. No Frenchie is the same, and we love them all. Happy Instagramming!
